What Happens After You Submit Your FAFSA
After all required sections are complete and your FAFSA form is submitted, the U.S. Department of Education processes it and creates your FAFSA Submission Summary. This summary is not your financial aid offer. Review your status and listed next steps on StudentAid.gov, and watch for follow-up from RACE.
Review Your Status and Respond to Next Steps
Most FAFSA forms are processed immediately, although some take one to three days. Check My Activity in StudentAid.gov.
When the status becomes Processed, review your FAFSA Submission Summary and complete any actions listed under Next Steps. Correct errors and respond promptly if RACE requests information through an approved secure process.

Submission Summary
• Once your status is Processed, open the summary from My Activity.
• Review the Eligibility Overview, FAFSA Form Answers, School Information, and Next Steps tabs.
• Confirm that Renaissance Academie appears in School Information.
• Correct any errors and complete any listed actions.
• Your Student Aid Index and estimated Pell Grant eligibility are not your financial aid offer or the amount you will owe RACE.
Watch for Follow-Up From RACE
• Monitor your email, StudentAid.gov dashboard, and messages from RACE.
• RACE may request additional information or documentation before eligibility can be finalized.
• Being selected for verification does not mean you did anything wrong.
• RACE will tell you what is needed and how to submit it securely.
• Respond promptly, but never send sensitive information through ordinary email or text.

Once RACE receives your official FAFSA information, Therese can review its status and explain any remaining steps. If documentation is required, follow RACE’s secure instructions and provide only the materials specifically requested.
A processed FAFSA, Student Aid Index, or estimated aid amount is not a financial aid offer. Any aid depends on student eligibility, program eligibility, enrollment, and federal requirements. Carefully review the difference between grants and loans before accepting an offer.
Return to the progress check and select “FAFSA Submitted.”
